DESCRIPTION OF CLIENT

Our client, a major North American storage products manufacturer, offers highly innovative solutions to a wide-ranging clientele. Its customers operate within a diverse range of sectors, from the municipalities, the Provincial and Federal government all the way to the financial, legal and health care industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In constant expansion in Canada, this sector leader is currently looking to fill an Account Manager role for the Ottawa and Outaouais region. This person will ensure new business development in various corporate domains (finance, legal, health), as well as grow clients from the municipal, provincial, and federal sectors. The individual must also:

  • Request introductory meetings to develop new business opportunities
  • Develop relationships with the corporate sector
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders within the municipal, provincial, and federal government
  • Prepare and write calls for tenders
  • Participate in answering RFI’s, RFP’s and RFQ’s
  • Build a network and work very closely with office furniture retailers
  • Prepare and lead lunch & learn activities with Architects & Designers
  • Take part in business networking activities with various associations (ARMA, IFMA)
  • Build activity reports on his or her pipeline and detailing sales opportunities
  • Perform high quality project management and follow established budgets and schedules
  • Create design drawings using 3D software (training provided)

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Ideally, the incumbent will hold a bachelor’s degree in Business administration or have equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a B2B sales or business development role
  • Extensive network of municipal, provincial, and federal government
  • Strong experience in the business Office Furniture sector
  • Strategic development oriented and focused on the prospection of new business opportunities
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid and sustainable business relationships with a network of channel partners and resellers, as well as with Architects & Designers
  • Great project management skills
  • Familiar with bidding processes
  • Skilled communicator both in English and French (spoken and written)
  • Good knowledge of major software tools (Office 365, SharePoint, CRM)
  • Interest in new technologies
  • Positive attitude toward teamwork, autonomy, and creativity

ASSETS

  • Experience negotiating with general contractors
  • Ability to read blueprints and to use technical drawing software
  • Knowledge of Zoho (CRM software)
