As the largest dealership network in Quebec, they specialize in the sale of both new and used vehicles, comprehensive repair and maintenance services, roadside assistance, bodywork, and tailored financing solutions.

In the midst of a strategic transformation to support its rapid growth, our customer is looking to recruit a Shop Foreman for its evening shift at its Trois-Rivières branch. The role will be to provide leadership to the team and ensure compliance with procedures and processes in the execution of day-to-day operations for the Trois-Rivières branch. The successful candidate will positively influence his or her team to respect the guidelines set by the managers of the various departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Dealership Manager, the Shop Supervisor is responsible for workshop management. He/she must ensure that repairs carried out by certified mechanics are performed according to the company’s procedures and policies. This role will provide positive leadership to mobilize and motivate the team. The main responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Receive requests from the technical advisor and distribute them to the team of technicians based on the type of task
  • Maintain a high-quality repair service and minimize workshop returns. Conduct intermittent checks of completed work to control rigor and quality
  • Monitor the progress of each repair throughout the shift
  • Participate in handling customer complaints in collaboration with the supervisor;
  • Monitor the condition of the workshop, including cleanliness, safety, and equipment status
  • Report issues to the service director
  • Facilitate communication between technicians on the day and evening shifts, as necessary
  • Understand warranty terms and manufacturer policies and ensure compliance
  • Allocate tasks to technicians
  • Manage a team of approximately 15 technicians
  • Provide technical support and coach technicians
  • Ensure proper employee schedule management
  • Handle disciplinary matters with the assistance of the director
  • Assist technicians in improving their skills
  • Ensure that safety rules and manufacturer procedures are understood and followed by technicians under your responsibility
  • Collaborate with technicians and other departments to maintain a healthy work environment
  • Embrace, communicate, and ensure compliance with changes in a positive and constructive manner
  • Encourage and influence the team to work collaboratively, promoting an open and collaborative management model
  • Operationalize activities with a focus on the customer experience by transmitting the company’s best practices

REQUIREMENTS

  • (DEP) in Mechanics
  • Relevant experience in a heavy truck or heavy equipment dealership
  • Experience in a role with leadership and team management responsibilities
  • Proactivity, leadership, a positive and engaged attitude
  • Manual dexterity and autonomy
  • Team spirit and interpersonal skills
  • Initiative and perseverance
  • Organizational and resourcefulness skills
  • Collaborative and good multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in French (oral and written) / Functional English.
