To strengthen its presence in Quebec, our client is seeking a Business Development Director. This position will report directly to the Regional Vice President of Sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Director will be responsible for driving growth within a specific market. As a sales professional, you will manage your business plan and develop strategies for your portfolio.

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new opportunities;
  • Design tailored strategies for customers, manage relationships, submit and secure contracts, and participate in long-term strategic planning in your territory;
  • Put forward creative approaches to building an effective customer portfolio
  • Establish accurate and well-documented sales forecasts for internal company needs;
  • Negotiate contract terms with customers, develop proposals, facilitate presentations and reach consensus on contract terms;
  • Establish contacts at various levels within customer organizations and manage the internal relationships necessary to ensure that solutions meet customer decision-making criteria;
  • Lead and coordinate the project team to ensure successful responses to the RFP’s, RFI’S and RFQ’s;
  • Regularly update annual and strategic plan statuses;
  • Maintain all customer contact information and activities in your CRM system.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant experience in a related field or equivalent;
  • Bilingualism in French and English (written and spoken) required;
  • 8+ years’ experience in sales, including at least 5 years in a business development role;
  • Highly resilient and entrepreneurial approach required for this position;
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets;
  • Willingness to adopt a proven sales model, with the ability to apply your commercial acumen while remaining open to a new approach to marketing;
  • High level of personal responsibility, integrity and assertiveness in guiding internal teams to achieve desired results;
  • Strong communication, relationship-building (internal and external), problem-solving and commercial negotiation skills;
  • Demonstrate versatility, sense of urgency and ability to work to tight deadlines.
