As the largest dealership network in Quebec, they specialize in the sale of both new and used vehicles, comprehensive repair and maintenance services, roadside assistance, bodywork, and tailored financing solutions.

Amidst a strategic transformation phase geared towards facilitating its rapid expansion, our client is actively seeking to appoint an Assistant Director for its service department. The company is in pursuit of an innovative individual equipped with critical thinking abilities, robust business acumen, and exemplary leadership skills.

The ideal candidate is expected to embody the role of a “Mobilizing Leader,” with a primary focus on elevating customer satisfaction, mobilizing and developing internal resources, and ensuring the delivery of unparalleled service.

The Assistant Director supervises and organizes the execution of processes and business practices within their unit to recommend actions to achieve performance objectives under their responsibility. They align decisions with established business strategies and ensure their continuity over time, acting as a change agent within their unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the Dealership Director’s supervision, the Assistant Director of Service is responsible for overseeing service department operations, aligning with the company’s efficiency and growth objectives while respecting its vision and mission.

  • Optimize human and material resources to ensure customer satisfaction, compliance with manufacturer practices and standards, cost control, effective collaboration with other departments, and professional growth of personnel;
  • Implement work practices focused on efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction;
  • Support and ensure change leadership within their teams;
  • Foster team development to ensure satisfaction, cohesion, and efficiency;
  • Maintain high repair service quality, reducing workshop returns;
  • Ensure the quality of periodic checks on executed work for rigor and quality;
  • Guide the team by maximizing relevant training, creating a stimulating work environment, and implementing best practices;
  • Actively contribute to achieving financial goals while deploying effective departmental policies and procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with rules established by CNESST (Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail);
  • Formulate action recommendations after evaluating associated CNESST risks;
  • Daily monitoring of actions required to achieve performance indicators;
  • Undertake any other related tasks necessary for the smooth functioning of the service department.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A diploma as a mechanic in the heavy truck or heavy vehicle industry is an important asset
  • Relevant experience or 7 to 10 years in operations management
  • Proficiency in French (oral and written) and functional English
  • Great knowledge of software/tools dedicated to the automotive or heavy vehicle industry
  • Strong background in developing winning business strategies in line with our client’s vision and management model
  • Excellent change management and leadership skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust strategies according to situations
  • Stand out with innovative ideas in business intelligence and best practices
  • Strong focus on customer/employee experience and integrating these elements into the service’s business strategy
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability for synthesis and analysis
  • Ability to debate ideas and influence business decisions while respecting the company’s vision and values
